About Brenna
Brenna Renee Cole-Pickrel was born February 3rd, 1993, and died October 2nd, 2024, at the age of 31. She graduated summa cum laude from Baylor in 2015 with a degree in Mathematics and commissioned as Det 810’s distinguished graduate. She went on to serve with distinction in the Air Force, excelling in cyber operations and strategic leadership roles. Her career included assignments at Keesler AFB, Nellis AFB, and Joint Base San Antonio, where she led critical national security operations. She also earned her Master’s degree in Cyber Operations from the Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT).
In April 2024, she married her husband, Kane Pickrel. Brenna radiated joy and kindness to all she encountered. Above all, Brenna will be remembered for her unwavering faith and profound commitment to Jesus Christ. Her legacy is one of intellectual brilliance, selfless service, and an unshakeable faith that inspired all who knew her.
On a bright Sunday afternoon, Brenna was crossing a crosswalk with her dog Daisy when she was tragically struck by oncoming traffic. She is survived by her husband Kane Pickrel, parents Tom and Linda Cole; sister Lindsey Cole; and brother Adam Cole, his wife Myriah, and nephew Winston. To carry forward her legacy, Brenna’s parents have established a scholarship in her name at Baylor University.
About the Scholarship
To honor her legacy, the Major Brenna Cole-Pickrel Memorial AFROTC Endowed Scholarship has been established in her name. This permanent endowment will provide an annual scholarship to a deserving Baylor AFROTC cadet every year—forever. Once the fund reaches the minimum threshold of $100,000, it will begin distributing scholarships perpetually, ensuring that Brenna’s legacy continues shaping future leaders for generations to come.
