Major Marshall R. Black is an AFROTC Assistant Professor of Aerospace Studies (APAS) at Baylor University. He supports the academic and leadership development of cadets in the Air Force ROTC program. Working alongside the lead professor, the APAS assists in delivering instruction on aerospace studies, military history, and leadership, while fostering a deep understanding of Air Force values. They provide mentorship, guide cadet growth, and assist in evaluating performance. The APAS also helps coordinate physical training, field exercises, and other activities to enhance cadet readiness for military service. 

Major Black is a graduated ICBM Weapons Officer. As such, he led the missile squadron’s weapons and tactics efforts and advised the commander on ICBM tactics, techniques, and procedures. Maj Black supported mission planning and debrief for operational and exercise requirements that spanned over 8,500 square-miles of the ICBM missile field. He collected and disseminated lessons learned into operations, training, and evaluations providing global deterrence and defends America with the world's premier combat-ready ICBM force. 

Major Black entered the Air Force in 2004 through Basic Military Training at Lackland AFB, TX, and later received his commission through Officer Training School at Maxwell AFB, AL. He has extensive experience in nuclear operations, intelligence operations, and joint environments.
