TECHNICAL SERGEANT WILLIAM R. LONGWELL
Technical Sergeant William R. Longwell, United States Air Force, serves as an Officer Accession Instructor with Baylor University’s Air Force ROTC program. He partners with the lead and assistant professors of Aerospace Studies to deliver instruction in aerospace studies, Air Force heritage, and leadership; mentors and evaluates cadets; and facilitates leadership laboratory, physical training, and field training preparation to build readiness and character grounded in Air Force core values.
TSgt Longwell enlisted in 2009 as a Security Forces defender and has deployed to Bagram Airfield, Afghanistan, as a Fly-Away Security Team leader, and to Al Udeid Air Base, Qatar, as the noncommissioned officer in charge of Installation Access. A career educator and trainer, he has logged more than 5,000 instructor hours for 10,000+ students. He earned a Ph.D. in Education and Organizational Leadership in 2024 and began a second Ph.D. in Industrial & Organizational Psychology in 2025, applying evidence-based leadership development to the AFROTC mission.
